Interesting facts about me

Grew up in Indianapolis. Believe it or not, rarely went to Butler Basketball games even though Mom was a Professor there.

Tufts University Graduate. Became a Boston Red Sox Fan in Fall 1991.

Came back to Indianapolis. Became a Indianapolis Colts Fan in Fall 1995. Was ecstatic when Peyton Manning was drafted.

Worked as a Q/C technician for the Indianapolis Water Company. Professor Mom started taking me to the Butler Bulldogs Men's Basketball Team in the late 90's. I became impressed with their style of play and became a fan of The Butler Way and the Butler University Men's Basketball Team.

Started Graduate School at Purdue in 2001. Followed the Butler team. Even went to see Butler play at Purdue in Fall 2001 and watched Butler beat them from the Purdue student section! Was most difficult not to cheer in enemy territory.

With a Masters in Biochemistry from Purdue, currently working in the biotechnology field of molecular diagnostics in the Philadelphia suburbs.

Lives in the Reading, PA area and still follows, in order of increasing importance, the Red Sox, the Colts and Butler basketball.

Butler seeds, Are the outlets still in business? I remember the "Road to Nowhere, " does it go somewhere now? I can remember taking my family to Stokesay Castke when I was on a business trip. I could be wrong, but I seem to remember going to the Sinking Springs Inn; always finished off the meal with Michters. I think it has long been out of business.

    Hi Bob!

Yes, the Vanity Fair Outlets are in business here in Wyomissing (just over a mile from where I live). I'm not familiar with the other businesses that you mention though.

Should you pass through, drop me a note in my in-box and let's see if we can get together.

Just wondering you opinion. If Butler is asked to play Davidson do you think that the game will be moved to the Time Warner Arena vs the Belk? Davidson played NCState there this year.

Checking the schedule for the Time Warner Arena: On the 20th is an NBA game at 7PM. On the 21st is a hockey game at 7PM.

I would have put this on the message board but I haven't asked the moderator for access yet.

Welcome! The moderator is a nice guy, he approves just about everyone. He just wants to make sure screen names are not vulgar, that kind of stuff.

I haven't heard of the Time Warner Arena, it is in Charlotte?

It is possible that ticket demand may exceed supply, but I'm not sure Davidson would want to move the game because its a hassle for season ticket holders. But, if Davidson can make more money from the game, then they may find a way just to do that.

Good question, never thought about that before. Butler's Hinkle Fieldhouse capacity is ~10,000, about double that of Belk's, so there is twice as much opportunity there to make revenue assuming ticket prices are the same at the two arenas.

Sounds like your family is in academia. All those places are far from the Four Corners area where I live. Do you ski? I work in Telluride and it is a wonderful area.
